In the heart of one of the nerve centers of Milan Design Week, Piazza Città di Lombardia at the Palazzo della Regione, in the presence of institutions, authorities, experts in the sector but, above all, of many young designers, the proclamation ceremony of the 20 winning projects in the Design Competition Expo Dubai 2020, the call for ideas reserved for young designers and companies promoted by the Lombardy Region and the Chamber of Commerce of Milan Monza Brianza Lodi, Unioncamere Lombardia, which will target the 2020 Universal Exposition

The initiative, which reaches its seventh edition this year, has as its theme the creation of innovative projects and the realization of the related prototypes, the result of the collaboration between Lombard companies and designers under 35, which was requested – in line with the theme of Expo 2020 “Connecting minds, Creating the future” – to develop design ideas on the theme of “Connecting Spaces” intended both as design objects to connect spaces that recall the Italian tradition of craftsmanship interpreted in an innovative way (Innovative Crafting), both as spaces connected through digital, IoT, new home automation technologies applied to design and information design (Digital Connecting Spaces), or even as temporary structures to connect people (Design for Human Connection)
